Welcome From The Head

William Austin is a vibrant school centred on our motto ‘Care, Inspire, Achieve.’

I have great pleasure in welcoming you to William Austin Junior School. Our school opened in 1956 and has been serving our local community with pride for over 70 years. We are a large junior school with extensive grounds for both learning and wider enrichment. Our motto is Care, Inspire, Achieve and our school family value this in everything we do.

I am really proud to have worked here since 1997, first as a class teacher, then growing in various leadership roles. I have been head teacher since 2014 and continue to be inspired by our wonderful staff who work tirelessly to support our pupils every day.

When I visit classrooms, or see pupils around the school, I see how happy they are, which is really important.

We value working closely with parents and carers as we help their children learn and grow in both confidence and independence, ready to go off to high school at the end of Year 6.

Our school is well supported by our team of dedicated and experienced Governors.

I hope that you find the information on our website helpful and informative. As it can only give you a small taste of what our school has to offer, I would encourage you to visit our school, speak to staff, meet our pupils and see the school in action. I would be delighted to answer any questions you might have and would welcome the opportunity to show you around.
